No Rice Rice cooker
I have a rice cooker and I want to put it to good use. Problem is, I hate rice. I've been looking online for rice cooker recipes, but can't find many good ones. There are a lot that talks about oatmeal but I can just as easily make it on the stove. Anyone have any creative ideas to use the rice cooker? Chicken? Stews? Etc?
Oh, and what's the difference bwn rice cooker and a slow cooker?

How much do you really hate rice?
I don't like a pile of rice as a white, boring side dish but it's hard not to like:
- jambalaya
- hoppin john
- red beans and (less) rice
- etc
If the rice is just in 'the supporting cast', I'm OK with it.A slow cooker is just that, slow and easy, just below simmering. Great for braising tougher cuts of meat. I don't think rice would ever get cooked in one.

Try beans (lentils, black beans, etc), Potatoes (I saw a Rice Cooker Scallop Potato recipe recently). Some rice cookers can convert into a steamer with an insert - so steamed veggies, fish, etc.
