Looking for Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray Soda... anyone seen it lately?

This flavour (celery soda) is big in NY - not so much in Toronto. ;-)

Has anyone seen it lately on the shelves? Thought it might be fun to bring it to a Rosh Hashannah dinner this weekend.

I have seen Dr. Brown's in various stores, but not this flavour. A brief search of this board brought up some other flavours... but not this one and I'm trying to avoid a wild (kosher)goose chase.

;-)

Thanks all!

It's great stuff, isn't it? So glad it's still being made.

Every single person that I practically forced to just taste it has become hooked on it. In the end, it really is rather like ginger ale, but with a bit of a different tickle.

No pastrami or Montreal Meat sandwich is complete without a glass of Cel-Ray on the side.

Thank you so much for the Soda Pop Central rec. This is a true find. A totally amazing and unique collection of hard-to-find, nostalgic, and some off the wall sodas. Never seen anything like this collection.

Everything there is in bottles by the way, no cans. I bought two bottles of Cel-Ray today, and I very much look forward to trying this soda for the first time shortly.

The Frostop brand Vanilla Caramel Creme Soda I had today was probably one of the best sodas I've ever tasted in my life. Like drinking a great butterscotch sundae, but carbonated. Awesome. I look forward to trying the A+W Root Beer Float in a bottle soon.

Prices are very inexpensive too, and they are open Saturdays.

        Great tip, thanks again.

Just tried it for the first time.

I had a bottle, and I went to Centre Street Deli, meaning to bring the Cel-Ray with me. Of course I forgot it. Cripes. Oh well.

So when I got home I tried it anyways, even though I wanted my first time to be with deli.

I for one love it. Incredibly refreshing. And quite tasty. I kinda peg it as a cross between Vernors and carbonated celery water, if that makes any sense. A bit unusual, but not as inaccessible as I thought. My friend tried it and nearly spit it out. I however am hooked. Love it.

      3. Highland Farms in Mississauga used to have Cel-Ray up until last year.. And even now, I'm not convinced it still isn't available there.. embee will be happy that someone has located it :)

        1. I saw cans of Cel-Ray stocked in the Kosher section at a Wegmans grocery store in Buffalo this weekend. The Wegmans adjacent to the Boulevard Mall.

For any interested parties who might be in that area on a day or weekend trip from Toronto....
