Hello All,
I'm seeking a venue in the kenmore/fenway neighborhood for cocktails/bar food for 75-100 people on a weekday night. I'd prefer a private area/room and something other than a dingy bar smelling of stale beer. Any suggestions?

You might be able to get the front area of Eastern Standard. I'm not sure exactly how many people it holds, but I've been to an event there with a number of guests in that approximate range. Assuming that you're doing this while the weather is still nice, as two thirds of the area is a covered outdoor space. Great cocktails, good food, and certainly not at all dingy.

I imagine you know how Sox home games affect bars in this area. I'd look at ESK, Church, maybe one of the Lyons Group bars on Lansdowne Street. The Baseball Tavern is kind of grim, but it does have multiple levels, including a nice roof deck.

What is your time frame? My company had a function in Fenway park. If it is after the season or on a night they don't play or are playing away you could have it there.

Not sure if they have a private space, but the Foundation Lounge itself might be a good place to consider.
