Last of This Year's Hatch Pepper Harvest

I know the prospects are slim but now that Fiesta has sold out I'm looking around for the last few Hatch peppers sitting around town.

Where are y'all getting the remnants of this years harvest?

  1. Just saw some at Hancock Center HEB tonight

    1. I've seen them at a few of the HEB's. CM Still had some on Saturday.

Frankly, I'm kinda burned out on them. Every year I get a bunch and do various things with them every year, but really there's nothing special about them IMO. There are other year-round peppers - such as the poblano - which are better.

The hatch is one of the least interesting peppers out there.

I'm kind of with you on this one. The only thing that I get a kick out is Central Market gets a little out of control with all the stuff they make, eg Hatch chile popcorn, Hatch chile cheese, etc. I mean the peppers are good but I don't get the big to do about 'em.

That being said, as of 5pm this afternoon CM has a small bunch left at $1.29/lb.

        2. As of this morning, there was still a bin full of them at Central Market North.
