Help! Need advice for a nice but not-too-expensive dinner tomorrow [London]

Need a place for dinner for 5 with good food and a nice bar that would be open on Monday evenings, in or not too inconvenient from south London, not too inexpensive (around 30 gbp before alcohol would be great). Had thought of Upstairs on Acre Lane, in large part because it has a really nice bar area and a lovely view for Brixton, but I think it isn't open on Mondays. Something of a last minute special occasion, but on a limited budget, unfortunately.

  1. Trinity in Clapham would be my first reaction -- had an excellent meal there recently. Ate really well at Osteria Antica Bologna on Northcote Road but that was well over a year ago.

    1. The Abingdon, a gastropub in Kensington, might suit. All except two entrees are under 20 pounds. The wine list isn't really that great and the place serves only beers by the bottle, none on tap. But the food is good. Open 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Mondays.
