Wonderful bakery in Queensbury, NY

I''ve been painting my MIL's home for the past couple of days. She has been very appreciative and told us that she has picked up some sweets for us. Having eaten at many places around Queensbury and Lake George, I was kind of disinterested as I've found many food options here to be not very good. But I was really pleasantly surprised with the wonderful desserts she brought for us.

It's called Baker's Dream, and her pastries are very good. She has previously worked at Mrs. London's in Saratoga Springs and opened up shop here in Queensbury. I have tried the chocolate peanut butter tart, cannoli and tiramisu. Delicious. Her baked goods aren't overly sweet (my pet peeve with a lot of bakeries). My MIL tells me that her goods are outstanding, but it seems that her business is slow. Her feeling is that many people in Queensbury value quantity over quality, and are stumped by the somewhat high prices for the area. The individual tiramisu (which is on the smaller side) is $6. But quality is excellent and totally worth the higher price. The owner, who hails from Malaysia, supposedly also carries a few Malaysian goods as well. I haven't tried them yet so I have no opinion on those treats. I would hate to see a business like this go belly up. It's an oasis of deliciousness in this area. Please try it if you are in the area.

The next day we stopped by and got croissants. As we got there when the shop opened, they croissants were still fresh and warm out of the oven. Heavenly! We also picked up some cream puffs and coconut cream pie. Coconut cream pie was excellent and would definitely try again. There was some sort of butterscotch-like salted caramel layer between the flaky crust and coconut cream. Yum!

We weren't able to try the cream puffs until much much later. By that time, the pate choux had gotten soggy. But I'm sure it would have been really good if we had them sooner.

Oh, I was wrong about the price of the tiramisu. It's $5, not $6.
