Please help me find a great dinner between Miami and St Pete beach

Driving from Miami to St. Pete want to do dinner on the way not too far off the highway. Think Bonita Springs or Naples good place to stop. What are the best recommendations? We love good food. including but not limited to Italian, seafood or steaks. Don't love franchises but if convenient would consider. DH does not care for exotic food like Vietnamese or Japanese.

Naples Tomato is local (not a chain yet).--they make their own pasta and sauces.

Prestons is the best steak i've ever had--also local but closes for the summer and may not be open yet.
Chops in Bonita is aa very good steak house with some good fish dishes too.
also Roy's is in Bonita and is Pan Asian--this is a chain but a limited chain and upscale and expensive.

Naples is halfway and has great restos in town, which leaves you with a 2-hour drive after dinner. Sarasota has good restos, and there are a few in Bradenton, but you are getting close to your destination. What hours are your travel times?

Leaving Miami at 3:00 pm.. Thinking Bonita Springs. Anyone have suggestions for Bonita?

It's not my neck of the woods, but we've spent a few weekends out that way and my favorite meal was at IM Tapas in Naples. More about it here ->
