A surprise at Le Cheval

Since my friend was visiting from out of town and wanted to go back to Le Cheval, I reluctantly agreed.

But I gotta report that the clay pot fish (snapper) was excellent: fresh tasting fish, dusted in black pepper (vs. the former sweet carmelized onion they used to prepare).

The lemon grass chicken was tender and nicely seasoned with a complexity of flavor.

And the red rice was also flavorful.

It was a lovely dinner.

*blink* Wow, a good meal at Le Cheval?

I will say that I like their hot'n'sour catfish (although I like that most places), and the clay pot is pretty good (I had a mixed version last time). Perhaps you stumbled across their good dishes!

I think there's 3 or 4 items to order at Le Cheval. The clay pot fish, the crab in season and the lemon grass beef. Stray from that and things slip quickly.

The other thing to order there is cocktails. Definitely above average. (like the OP, I used to be taken their reluctantly since an old boss of mine really liked the place for some reason. But having a drink always helped :-)).
