Fish Done Well at Sel de Mer on Graham Ave.

Had the perfectly roasted dorade which was sea fresh and moist, with perfectly crisped skin. Also a dish of fluke in a clam and corn chowder broth which was also great. Started with perfectly fried calamari (tender served with a mild tomato sauce and finished with the brownie and ice cream. The brownie was half way to pound cake and generous with chocolate taste accompanied by a smear of perfect fudge sauce - dive in, pig out.
Key word perfect.

had a terribly overcooked piece of something there a few weeks ago in an empty restaurant. have not been back. Should have sent it back but honestly did not feel like it that night and did not feel there was any excuse to over cook a fish if that is what you do. Under cook maybe.

We also had a substandard experience there...I was with two others and all of our dishes were definitely overcooked and bland. We also began with a plate of oysters that was served with a watermelon mignonette that was so overpowering for the delicate flavor of oysters. This is a place that I do want to succeed and would like to visit again -- if we hear better reports. Anybody else eaten there that cares to report?

$17 - $18 for the fish main, about 6+ for apps, the brownie was $7(as I remember). The above menu with a side of roasted corn was $52 for two. It struck me as money well spent.
