HELP … I need a Los Angeles area Mexican Chain Hook Up

Can someone please educate me?

I am a lifelong east coast stalwart and I would like to know what is the best Mexican chain (please assume I have to frequent a chain, it’s lunch, I travel around and need a basic “go to” place) to frequent now that I am in the LA area? Why is it the best? What places should I avoid and why?

Thanks for saving me.

  1. If you are looking for a Southern California chain where you order at one window and then go back and pick your food up at another then something like Poquito Mas will probably serve your purpose (even if they don't serve you at your table). At least they have a pretty fair salsa bar.

For a sit down and be served type of place then Torito Grill should do you fine.

You realize, of course, that there are an almost infinite number of places in and around LA to get much, much, MUCH better Mexican or Oaxacan or Yucatecan food at?

    1. king taco is the bomb! the best chain fast food mexican in LA.

i love campos - which is a loosely-affiliated chain throughout the los angeles / santa monica areas. their bean and cheese burrito is really good. you kind of need to work through the menu and see what you like/don't.

baja fresh for cal-mex / grilled food is ok. it's not as good as eduardo's which is basically the same - but it's good.

la salsa is worse than baja fresh - but ok for the same type of food. i like the salsa bar at baja fresh better.

howdy's fish tacos is not too good in my opinion - fish is really bland. but their salsa bar is good.

never been to wahoo's or baja bud's (which i think is a chain) - but have heard good things about both.

del taco is a taco bell rival, but basically the same type. i like taco bell, but will eat at del taco too, if needed.
