Bachelorette Getaway beginning of September - Irene's Cusine Of The French Quarter

I just got back from a fantastic trip to N.O. over the weekend (during Southern Decadence weekend). After reading and reading all the reviews I was torn at exactly where to go and having a hard time making a decision. I was the "planner" and didn't want to disappoint anyone with my choices.
Well - Galatoire's (1st choice) was closed for the holiday - so that solved that choice :).
We stayed in a townhome annex of French Quarter Suites Hotel on Rampart - which was awesome!
The guys who worked (or possibly owned) the place, Scott, highly recommended Irene's Cusine Of The French Quarter - on St. Phillip St.
Let me tell you - IT WAS FABULOUS!!! The staff were SUPER friendly, accomodating, on top of everything. Prices ranged aroun $18-30/entree (if I remember right).
Now for the FOOD - oh that marvolous food- out of 13 ladies - only 1 didn't leave that place RAVING over and over about how good their meal was!! She said hers wasn't bad - she just saw how much we all loved ours and didn't feel as if hers fulfilled that sentiment (she ordered a soup of some sort and it was pricey for soup - that was her drawback).
We later went on a Vampire Tour (which was less than fun...oh well..can't win 'em all) and the tour guide actually mentioned only Irene's by name as we walked past (no other restaurants were mentioned). She stated "this is our local favorite place to eat," and commented that we needed to try it. We, of course, validated her recommendation and told her we LOVED it. I promise I will eat at Irene's every time I go to N.O. at least once - if not multiple times from this point on. The only other time I had a fantastic food experience that good (though it wasn't the same type of restaurant or food) was at Vittoria's & Albert's in Disney.
We also drove to Oak Alley Plantation and ate lunch there. It was also a very good meal. Southern and Cajun food choices. My friend (same one that ordered the soup) again, didn't like her duck she ordered - but all the other girls were very satisfied with there meals. It was a nice lunch.
As it was a bachelorette party the rest of the meals consisted of pizza on Bourbon Street and breakfast (at some early morning hour) at Clover Grill. Other than the snooty queen that kept telling us what we could and couldn't do - it was good 'ol greasy breakfast food. It was so early in the a.m. after much alcohol - I think my shoe would've tasted good at that point. So - can't give a fair assessment on that.

Ask for the Parmesan Potatoes. They will substitute. It usually goes with the steak. My absolute favorite potatoes.
