Philly girl goes to OBX
For good barbecue:
If you drive north from Duck up to the Corolla Lighthouse, there's a little shack in the historic Corolla Village called Corolla Village Barbecue. It's the real deal, eastern North Carolina pork barbecue. They also have ribs and a few sides. You order at a little window on the tiny screened porch, then sit at a picnic table outside. It makes for a nice little trip up to that area.
I don't get down to the Duck direction of the outer banks very often due to seasonal traffic. I turn right after the bridge, and Duck is to the left. The restaurant I've heard the most about in Duck I think is called the Blue Point. Heading the other direction from Duck once you cross the bridge there are several decent places to eat. The Black Pelican has a good reputation. I've heard a lot recently about Food Dudes, but I haven't tried it yet. My wife really likes Tortugas Lie. Go to Capt. Franks if you want a good hot dog and fries. Owens is an old very established restaurant as well.
