Best Banh Beo?

tykapfh Sep 10, 2009 11:34 AM

I've always wondered what all of those little dishes were when I was at Vietnamese restaurants and now (i think) I know.

Any recs on where to go for this?

(Any area in the greater LA/OC area is fine)

Is this place on the corner of Bolsa & Brookhurst?

Not. It's on Bolsa between Brookhurst and Magnolia, on the north side of the street sort of across from the Asian Garden Mall and in the same plaza as the Bolsa branch of Hien Khanh.

in the SGV: Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa on rosemead and mission

in OC, Quan Hy as Das suggested, but others such as Quan Vy Da Brookhurst and Bolsa and Huong Giang on 14564 Brookhurst are also good.

Quan Hy is the best. Other places make it, but for some reason it is hard to find well made Banh Beo. In Vietnam I find many good places. In Little Saigon and SGV, not so much. But even B-Level Banh Beo is still delicious. But at Quan Hy (or Quan Hop) they are always superior.

Have to agree with everyone else that Quan Hy has some of the freshest and best banh beo. Quan Vy Da is also a good option as well.
