I am driving from Los angeles to claremont and looking for a place close to the freeway to stop for lunch. I know there are tons of hidden gems along that route. I already plan to go to Din Tai Fung for dinner... but is there anything else I could hit up for lunch?

  1. Which way are you going? I mean, you're going to be in Arcadia for dinner. The 210 doesn't even go through the City of L.A. per se; Arcadia is 20-45 minutes from Claremont depending on the time of day, so, where exactly do you plan to be at lunchtime?

    1. Not exactly a lunch destination, but certainly the Donut Man in Glendora, located off the 210 freeway between Sunflower and Lone Hill. I'm not sure if peach season is over, yet...but the donuts filled with fresh peaches is divine!

        Donut Man for lunch.

        Donut Man for dinner,

      2. Here are five excellent lunches.

The Original Tops, (Kobe bistro burger, pastrami, asada or chicken totasda, Grilled cheese & Tomato Soup combo, fries, deep fried zucchini)
3838 E Colorado Blvd (Between Rosemead Blvd. And Michillinda)
        Pasadena, CA 91107-3940
        (626) 449-4412

        1. La Cabanita in La Crescenta/Montrose for good Mexican-- I love their tacos

          1. You can try Tasty Garden just down the street from Din Tai Fung (SE corner of Duarte and Baldwin). It has really good Hong Kong-style meals.
