Been away from NYC for 1 year - where should I go?

I'm a New Yorker who was living abroad for the past year and am now looking to catch up on restaurants that have opened since then.

Recommendations for newish good ethnic eats in Brooklyn/Queens, especially, would be appreciated.

Bamboo Pavillion (Bensonhurst) and Metro Cafe (Sunset Parks) two fine sichuan restaurants in Brooklyn (now we have 3),

I second Bamboo Pavillion in Bensonhurst. Also, Grand Sichuan House of Bay Ridge opened about two years ago.

Cantonese - Pacificana in Sunset Park.

Chinese noodles - Yun Nan Flavour Snack in Sunset Park.

Haitian - Le Banquet, in East Flatbush.

Greek - Yiasou, Greek in Sheepshead Bay.

Hunan House in Flushing - very good Hunan food, a rarity in NYC. Lots of info on it here.

Southern Spice in Flushing. Was there on Monday for the lunch buffet. Criminally cheap and yummm.

Tortilleria Nixtamal in Corona, and afterwards check out Timmy O's Frozen Custard a couple of blocks south.
