Dim Sum Before US Open?

Hi Chowhounders. We have US Open tickets next Friday. Since we haven't gone for dim sum in Flushing yet & have it on our To Do List for Eating, were thinking of going for dim sum before going to the Open. We want to be at the Open at noon'ish. Any advice you can give on the following is greatly appreciated:

a) where would you suggest going for dim sum in Flushing within our time frame?
b) if we parked our car at the US Open/Citifield Parking lot off Northern, would it be walkable? (we wouldn't mind walking a mile to a restaurant and back)
c) what would you recommend eating at the place(es) you suggest we go to?

Thanks everyone...

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We have tickets for tomorrow and are crossing our fingers that we don't get rained out. I appreciate the suggestions to take the train 1 stop.

    Go Serena!

I've been to the Open several times this week (and parked in the same lot) and I think it would be quickest to drive to dim sum first and then come back and park at the stadium.
If you really want to park in the lot first- then I'd do as northNJfoodie recommended below and jump on the 7 for a stop. If you happen to park by Citifield- you'll walk right by the station, but if you end up in lots 1-7 you'll have to take a shuttle to the stadium first and then walk a little ways to the station. If you get to Flushing and don't have time for dim sum, then you can pick up some treats to go from a street vendor and take them in to the Open. Roast duck buns and scallion pancakes are far better than the nachos I ate there yesterday.

I believe Gala Manor opens at 9am, so you can get an early start and not have to worry about the crowds. Street address is 37-02 Main St., but that's deceiving as the entrance is actually pretty far down on 37th. With dim sum you just see what's on the carts.

I think Jade Asian (136-28 39th Ave) has excellent dim sum. It may be a 1 1/2 mile walk there though. You may need to walk up roosevelt ave or if you are in a rush take the 7 train one stop. I haven't eaten there on a weekday but I have heard that there are lines even on the weekdays. It is a huge restaurant so the wait usually isn't very long. If you want to be at the Open by noon, you should get to the restaurant by 10:30-10:45. Everything I have tried there is good, so feel free to sample as much as you can.
