What restaurant should Sam Sifton review first?
What restauranty should the NYT's new critic Sam Sifton review first? Is there a new restaurant that deserves praise from the paper of record, and the press that comes with that? An old stalewort that should be reevaluated? Has a dining establishment improved so much that it deserves another star, a la Eleven Madison Park?
on one hand, i'd like to see him review some long-standing places that Bruni, Will Grimes, and maybe even Ruth Reichl have reviewed to get a comparative sense of his style and palate. on the other hand, it would be nice to hear about some of the newer noteworthy places that haven't been reviewed yet - like Marea, Gus & Gabriel, Standard Grill, the new A Voce in Time Warner Center...
