Peri-peri chicken in the Twin Cities? (MSP)

Hi. My first post here - actually, I created an account just to ask this question. :)

Does anyone know where I can get some of that famous Portugese/African dish called Peri-peri chicken (also spelt "Piri-piri" sometimes) in the Twin Cities?

    1. Welcome to Chowhound. I think your inaugural post is a particularly challenging one, so, I hope you don't get discouraged. The only place I've ever seen in my comparatively limited Twin Cities dining that has offered piri piri anything is Solera's "Salt Cod Croquetas with Portuguese Piri-Piri". Maybe you could call them and ask if they ever do chicken? Their menu changes seasonally so maybe you could lobby them to put it on their fall menu? http://www.solera-restaurant.com/Sole...

              Oh, man! You made me recall my time in South Africa...a place not particularly known for its cuisine. But I found a little greasy spoon that served the most fabulous Piri-Piri Chicken Livers! Wow!

              Like so many of my favorites, I fear I'll just have to learn to make it myself.

                  Yep, you will. I've been collecting recipes and sources for the peppers/sauce ever since eating the chicken day after day in Macau. And never getting tired of it.

                  Where are those piri-piri chicken livers?!

                      Enjoyed those chicken livers in Empangeni, a small industrial town in KwaZulu Natal, about a 90 minute drive outside of Durban, South Africa.

                      A three-day trip from MSP, costing upwards of $2,000. Those livers were good, but not that good!
