Another Baltimore Restaurant Casualty!!!

Went to call for a dinner reservation at Blue Sea Grill for tomorrow evening and was stunned, and thoroughly disappointed, that the lovely restaurant has closed as of August 29th. I am speechless, as it was one of my favorite dining establishments which offered professional service, beautiful atmosphere and better then average cuisine.

So, Brass Elephant, Ixia, now Blue Sea--poof--all gone into the ether of non existence.

I was quite surprised that Blue Sea went under, as it could have been carried via DeCastro since he owns the three Ruths' Chris and Babalu Grill. It isn't as though it was truly independent as the other two, i.e., the Blue Sea was part of the ownership of a restauranteur who owns chain venues. (Please correct me if I am wrong in my assumption).

I suppose the Blue Sea was diminishing the bottom line of profitability against the other 3 restaurants. Too bad and way too sad. FoiGras

  1. Babalu is reportedly closing on the 6th of this month. According to the owner's shill this is because the rents were up for renewal and they intend to focus on their Ruth's franchises.

    1. Heard Dogwood is closed also. That hurts.

Wow. I moved away from Baltimore earlier this summer, but I still haunt these boards because I miss it there so much. The chef's blind tasting at Dogwood was one of the best meals of my life.
