Anyone know of a good lunch spot on the west side, with a nice atmosphere, light fresh food, unique spot??

Lemonade (in Venice) is my current favorite. Plenty of inventive salads, in addition to sandwiches and heartier fare. Nice desserts and several exotic lemonades too (cucumber, blueberry, etc) If Venice is _too_ west, i believe they also have a WeHo location...

I second Lemonade, but know it is cafeteria style.

I'm partial to Il Grano. Wednesdays are heirloom tomato days with tomatoes from Sal's garden, in a variety of preps. The grilled squid has a great char and is melt-in-the-mouth tender.

Any budget ? Most places will have a selection of salads that, IMHO, would qualify under light & fresh. Nice atmosphere to me is dining outside:

Wilshire - Santa Monica - Love their outdoor patio, hate what they did to the inside:

Chez Mimi - Santa Monica - Nice charming patio:

Michael's - Santa Monica - Expensive, hit or miss foodwise, but a Killer patio:

Cafe Chez Marie - In between Century City and the 405, is that still the westside ? Yes & No, it depends on who you ask. I've never eaten there, it is rarely mentioned anywhere, but it's outdoor dining ambiance is too charming to omit & is a very unique spot. Food Fresh & Light ? inexpensive:

Wilshire is my favorite lunch spot in SM. Lately I also enjoy Fig very much. Inside Fairmont Hotel, overlooking the swimming pool, farmers market fresh ingredients! All salads are good but I especially enjoy the warm quinoa salad and the young beet salad.

Lemon Moon at Olympic and Bundy. Lots of delicious salads plus some hearty sandwiches, including some of the best gringo carnitas I've tried. The space is bright and airy with plenty of seating indoor and out.
