Question: Le Baratin

Hi Chowhounds,

Have some friends passing through Paris this weekend, and we would love to go to Le Baratin for dinner. I called for a reservation for Saturday night, but they are full - would it be worthwhile to trek over around 7 to see if they could possibly fit us in??

Only if you are in the neighborhood or enjoy the trek up to the 11e. If they say they are complet, they tend to mean it. I doubt that they'll have any tables free even at 7pm unless there is a last minute concellation. But these are difficult economic times, so anything is possible.

Ok thanks - do you (or anyone else) have any recommendations for a bistronomique can't miss dinner besides Chez l'Ami Jean, la Regalade, Chez Josephine, la Pre Verre?

We're looking for something not terribly expensive (around 25-50€), outooor seating a plus, but if the food is really excellent, not terribly important.

I would just search this board and start calling; tomorrow is Saturday, the favorite night to go out.

I was there on Tuesday and it was full for two sittings, it doesn't open until 7:30 and is quite small with maybe 40 seats. I would say the chances of of being squeezed in are slim. It is also in the 20eme not the 11eme so even further out.
