What are you cooking today?

Eau Claire, Chippawa, Menomonie

I travel there a couple of times a year and have found the fare rather, well, plain (full disclosure: wisconsin is where I grew up, thinking Mrs. Paul's was as good as fish could get). But maybe I don't know where to look. Any suggestions for an non-routine meal? I do like game and venison, but fresh water fish rather bland. Anything unexpcted, different, or exciting use of local ingredients? An Alice Waters in the Land of Sky Blue Waters?.

Or just accept that there isn't much between St. Paul and Madison except I-94, and really really good sweet corn.
