Babe's or North Main BBQ

Got a tough choice to make this weekend for the pregame meal before that OU/BYU game at the new Cowboys Stadium.

Have enjoyed both many times and there is no loser in this contest.

I would go BBQ. North Main is decent and closer on the route (I would think), and would digest faster and weigh you down less, leaving you for some major beer drinkin'.

As with any NCAA event, no alcohol sales will be allowed inside the stadium.

That's not true. Fresno state and Colorado State sell beer. All bowl games sell beer including the Cotten Bowl (inside) . I had 4 last year. I'd bet there will be beer at Jerryworld, albeit $10 per.

They never miss a trick. Well if they didn't, people would just bring flasks.

There is a case against cheap beer, J.R., lets set the Way Back Machine to year 1974:

To bring fans to the failing Cleveland Indians, management decided to sell 10-ounce cups of beer for only 10 cents at a game against the Texas Rangers.

Management forgot one small detail: drunk people get restless. More than 25,000 fans showed up for the event, most of them already tipsy at the gate. Among the more tame incidents was a woman who flashed the crowd from the on-deck circle, a father-son team mooning the players (good bonding experience, I guess) and fans jumping on the field to shake hands with the outfielders. Then, in the bottom of the ninth, the Indians tied the game, but never got a chance to win. Fans started throwing batteries, golf balls, cups and rocks onto the field and one even took the glove of the Rangers right fielder. As the player rushed into the stands to get his glove back, fans starting swarming the field to stop him and threw chairs to block his way.

The Indians were forced to forfeit the game and nine fans were arrested. The AL president forced the franchise to abandon the promotion idea after understating “There was no question that beer played a great part in the affair.”

Yes, N. Main is open only on Fri Sat (11 to 9) and Sun (11 to 4). I believe its like 8 or 9 dollars all you can eat, and it is BYOB. They have free tea, and a soda machine in the back by the mens room.

The 10 Cent Beer Night would make a decent movie. But not nearly as much as the Andre the Giant story. The man was a varacious alcoholic who once chugged 119 beers in 6 hours. Thats a fresh beer every three minutes to you and me. Read the link below, it's amazing.

It's more like $12 these days; but hey eat all you want. Sandwich costs you about $5 plus a $1 a side. Never had a sandwich there; just cough up the money and eat all the brisket and ribs I can.\\

That does include tax and iced tea so $12 is a little misleading.

I went to an Oklahoma home game last year and they didn't sell beer but I called Cowboys Stadium and they WILL be selling alcohol for the Oklahoma/BYU game.
