Where to buy Lebanese garlic sauce? Westside or South Bay.

Is there a deli/grocer that sells Lebanese garlic sauce? I want to make some chicken pita sandwiches, but do not have any time to actually MAKE the sauce.

I work in West LA, but live in Harbor anywhere between these two places would be ideal.

I thought about going to Zankou and picking some up, but it is out of my way. I may end up doing that though if there isn't any place closer.

  1. Zankou on Sepulveda at Santa Monica is your best and tastiest bet, but Gaby's Late Night Cafe on Venice near Motor makes it and would no doubt sell you some. Zankou's is stronger, Gaby's milder.

    1. Open Sesame in Manhattan Beach (next to the Ralphs in the Manhattan Village Mall) has the garlic sauce and it's awesome. I'm sure you can ask for a to go order of it.

Did not know that they had another location (outside of the Belmont Shore/Long Beach one). Thanks for the tip:

Thanks for this rec! I had no idea that they had a MB location either. I love their Belmont location, it's one of my favorite restaurants! I ended up going there and getting some their amazing garlic sauce. Cute place.

          Thanks again!

        2. Sunnin (Lebanese place in westwood) has spectacular garlic sauce. I'm pretty sure you can buy a big pint of it from them, too.

          Sunnin Lebanese Cafe
1779 Westwood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90024

          1. I picked some creamy garlic paste at whole foods on 3rd and Fairfax a while back.
            Real close to Zankou.
its available at quite a few stores
organic, vegan friendly, no preservatives, no artificial colors, no artificial flavors
Made in the southland in La Canada
I think it is what you are looking for.

            1. Have you tried either the Tehran Market, on Wilshire btwn 14th & 15th in Santa Monica?

Or I know a few Persian markets are along Westwood Blvd between Wilshire & Pico blvds in Westwood, perhaps they carry a similar product?

              Good luck!
