SAUGYS HOTDOGS

I live on the Cape and wonder if anyone knows where to get Saugys hotdogs. I'm willing to take a roadtrip to get them...thanks

That's easy, Hobie. I'll usually get my Saugy's at Stop and Shop in North Providence. I can't say if all the S&S in RI carry them.

    Good luck.

Today, I got a few at the meat counter at Venda Ravioli on Atwells in Providence.

They sell saugy's at Phred's Drug Store in Cranston. (Look up the address)

The always have them and are sometimes on SALE

most supermarkets in RI and southeastern MA (like Seekonk) stock them but you often have to go to the deli counter-- they're not usually in the refrigerator section. I grew up eating them.

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe Saugys are now made at the Old Neighborhood factory on the North Shore.

They are made by the company that makes Old Neighborhood. Don't know the adress. A good beef/pork dog in the German style. Good flavor with hints of pepper.

Old Neighborhood Foods is located at 37 Waterhill Street in Lynn MA 781-592-0014. You can view their website @ www.thinntrim.com/ If you call them maybe they can tell you what stores sell Saugy dogs in MA.? I hope this information helps.

I'm from Rhode Island and I don't think I've ever had a Saugy's dog. However, with the help of the ole Google Machine, I was able to find this: http://www.saugy.net/. No road trip needed.

I think they are a Rhode Island phenom.
