Roadtrip from D.C. to Newark, OH (east of Columbus)

My wife and I will be driving during September from D.C. to Newark, OH (east of Columbus) and would love if people have any great restaurants (preferably hole in the wall places) or local specialties that we shouldn't miss out on. The three "major" cities we'll pass through are Morgantown, WV, Washington, PA, and Wheeling, WV along I-70, I-68, and I-70/79.
