I have a friend coming into town and I will be meeting him in Halifax for supper. I was looking at a few different places, but they seem to be closed on Mondays. Jane's on the Common looked great but closed on Mondays! I am looking for a restaurant that has local seafood options and a decent wine list. Looking for entrees to be in the low to mid $20's. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I made reservations at Chives. Now on to the drinks afterwards. I think I'll take him to Lower Deck for the local flair. What other good spots are there? Thanks!

Chives isn't open for lunch, Salty's is terrible, I'd recommend, mckelvie's, also the pub side of O'carroll's is really an undiscovered gem. you can hardly go wrong on their menu. I'd stay away from the pizza on pita bread though.

I agree with krisie. I have never had a bad meal at McKelvies or O'Carrolls (I have only eaten on the pub side). Chives blows them both out of the water.
