How do you use Chowhound?
I discovered this website about a year ago, and it's my most visited site. But I think there is more that I may be missing. I'm not sure how to bookmark something. And suspect there is a way to organize a meet-up, but have no clue. The topics I visit the most are:
The LA Board (obviously) because it has helped me to find wonderful gems and gain 10 lbs.
The General Chowhounding Topics board because I just love the creative stories and nostalgic threads.
The Home Cooking Board for what to make for dinner
The Chains board because it taught me how to order my double double.
How do you use Chowhound? Which are your favorite areas and why? (Sorry if this was already asked...I also haven't really mastered the "search" function.)
For bookmarking, look above your initial post and you'll see a little checkbox next to "Favorite Topic". Click that checkbox, and then click once on Favorite Topic. A popup window will come up telling you it's saved to your Favorites. To find it, go to MyChow and click on "Favorites" just under the banners (under the word "Recipes") and it's there.
I use the following boards: Food Media and News, Home Cooking, General Topics, Not About Food, the Boston board, and sometimes the Recipes board, Site Talk, Technical Help, and Cookware. I like the discussion about various on-TV shows relating to food (Top Chef being a favorite topic of discussion), Home Cooking to post WFD or to just see what people are asking. Same for GenTopics and NAF.
