anchovy stuffed olives
I was just given a can of these olives. Anyone know of a good recipe I can use them in? I'm thinking pasta or chicken.

I'm definitely thinking a puttanesca is obvious, but how adventurous are you? What about a riff on Chicken Marbella?

I've never been able to keep them around long enough to cook with them. I'd open a nice bottle of white wine or better yet, dry sherry, grab some almonds and the olives, and enjoy the last bits of summer!

I agree - I love them on their own!
why cook the flavor out of them (the anchovy will disintergrate)

Yep, without doubt, these are eating olives.

Agreed- eat them on their own or maybe with a potato chip or two (as they do in Spain) and you have a perfect, salty, crunchy snack. And if you like the taste of the canned olives, you can get even more intense flavors by making anchovy stuffed olives yourself (http://www.worldsofflavorspain.com/no...).

They're quite good in salads - like insalata nicoise and insalata di riso - italian rice salad, and they also work on home-made pizzas. But your question has got me thinking - I have an italian recipe for leg of lamb stuffed with anchovies - and I'm wondering if I could use these instead! Actually sounds quite good!

nicoise would be a good use

OMG, I can eat cans and cans of those things.
I agree -- don't cook with them. Eat them as a snack or in a salad.

Do you eat these olives chilled or right out of the can?
