What would you suggest, Bob's or Harris's for a great steak dinner?

  1. Not Bob's.

    1. Harris has wonderful service and great food. It's a quintessential steak house--no surprises, wonderful execution. I was there in January for my birthday dinner. The atmosphere is a bit stodgy, even for my tastes, which tend toward old favorites.

      1. It's been a couple of years since I've been there, but yes on Harris's ... haven't done Bob's, so can't say.

And I always liked the rib-eye at Original Joe's, but I never knew if it was aged. Here's a little psychic energy toward bringing OJ's back ...

Your assumption was correct: OJ's did have a fairly elaborate beef aging facility in the basement.

        2. I was in SF for my 60th birthday last Sept . A friend took us to Hustons for my birthday dinner . We had their Hawiian steak , probably the best that I've ever had ! Hustons is located on the road along the bay between Fisherman's Warf and Giardelli Square . Now all I have to do is figure out how I can duplicate the marinade at home !

I've had some excellent steaks at Houston's. They consistently deliver one of the best cuts of filet mignon. Some people have qualms because it's part of a chain. If it weren't so good I wouldn't keep going back.
