Hello Chicago Hounds!
My husband and I will be making our second visit to your wonderful city in early October to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Chicago is truly one of our favourite cities, chow-wise and otherwise. Last time we were there we loved Blackbird and would like to find another restaurant with a similar casual approach to fine dining. We are staying at the Hotel Indigo in the Gold Coast. I'm told it's a great neioghbourhood for restaurnats. Anything we can walk to or take a short cab ride to would be wonderful. We'd also appreciate a rec for good deep dish pizza as it is an unheard of commodity here in Toronto where we live. Last time we ate at a pizza joint on the Miracle Mile but I'm told the Gold Coast neighbourhood has everything. We'd also like to know if there is any good barbecue to be had in the vicinity. And lastly, which bars would you recommend in the area? I'm dying for a Goose Island IPA. I think it's one of the best beers I've ever had. Cant' wait!!! Thanks, folks. Love your city!
For casual fine dining similar to Blackbird, i would high recommend either Eve, which is a few blocks from your hotel; or Sepia or Province, which are very close Blackbird.

Oops, one more. Cafe des Architectes at the Sofitel is also in your area. It has modern, creative French food.
Eve is a romantic restaurant with contemporary American food. So is Sepia. Province has a fun atmosphere and a very flexible selection on their menu. It is mediterranean, latin american inspired.
