  1. Thai Son Vietnamese Restaurant on Baxter Street near Canal St. It's right next to Italian Rest called Forlini's.

Not sure what you're looking to eat specifically but having eaten at both Thai Son and New Tu Do on Bowery within the past couple of weeks, I would not go to Thai Son. The No.1 combo bowl of pho is a lot more interesting, flavor wise at New Tu Do even though Thai Son throws in beef balls. I'm no expert at pho but the stuff at New Tu Do tastes a heck of a lot better than the stuff at Thai Son. The grilled pork chops/crispy spring rolls/pork over vermicelli were similar.

Of the four places, I've had pho and other stuff at recently, I'd rank them in this order New Tu Do >Cong Ly>Nam Son>Thai Son.

Thanks for your help.. I tried Pho So 1 last night and absolutely loved it.. Though, I did not order the pho, I had a few really nice dishes.. The stand out to me was the plate of sea spinach greens cooked simply in garlic..

We also had the frogs legs and a really nice raw beef salad with lots of mint.. I am certainly not done checking places out..
