Avoid Bistro 61. Also what used to be Angels on West side of 1st Ave. 62/63 street. No longer BYOB, but food is good and inexpensive.

what's wrong with Bistro 61? I haven't been there in about two years, but it was good back then. I thought so, anyway.

Two years a lot can happen, new chef, new owner, etc. We ate there before the summer and as we were ordering the couple next to us were complaining about every thing they had. It was too late for us to leave, but they were right. the food/service was awful.

Cipolla Rossa is a nice, reasonable and authentic Tuscan spot, just a couple of blocks away. Also BYOB!

The 61st St branch of Cipolla Rossa is no more.
            To the OP:
Sushi Seki, Dakshin II, Maya, Tori Shin, Chola, Grand Sichuan East, Mexican cart on 3rd and 60th, Gourmet Garage for grocery. Also, Chicken Kitchen might reopen by the time you'll be here.
