Tips for Dining, Eating and Food Shopping in other regions of the World

Berlin at New Year's 09

I am looking for a restaurant from which we can watch the fire works at midnight or, at least step outside of the restaurant and see the displays. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

        Oh, really? Bummer. Maybe the resto in the Fernsehturm, then? Or Käfer on top of the Reichstag? Or eat first somewhere else, and then shlep to Brandenburg gate with the other 100,000+ people '-)
