Recent Mangosteen sightings?

I have been looking for this fruit for a while. I have had the canned stuff from super 88, and the dried from trader joes. I also checked the lucky market in Randolph, but they said not until October. Anybody know of a place to get this rare fruit?

There have been some recent posts about this....the fruit seller who sets up outside Pho Hua in Chinatown has had them in the past couple of months (along with really nice longans, lychees, rambutans, papayas, and more). http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/641194

Just fyi too, when I went by the guy there quoted me $20 a bag, but recently I walked past with a Chinese friend and he didn't notice we were together....in Chinese he quoted her $10/bag!

They do have whole frozen mangosteens (with rind on) at the Vietnamese market in Quincy (where Super 88 used to be).

Battambang in Lowell has carried them for a few months now. Quite pricey, $16/bag. I haven't bought any there yet, as I'd just had some at a more reasonable price in Toronto a month ago, which slated my craving.
