Wine and Juice

Help! Recently on a travel show I heard about a chilean or carribean cocktail using frozen pineapple juice and what I think was white wine? Anyone out there have any recipes or ideas on where I could find a recipe? Any h.lp is greatly appreciated. P.S. this cocktail was said to be very potent on the show;

  1. Back in the late 50's early 60's, "wine coolers" were all the rage. It was a good way to enjoy a cocktail without worrying about the quality of the wine (think Thunderbird) when you had a lot of guests.
    The cooler you describe is often made by putting a 50/50 mix of unsweetened strained pineapple juice and white wine in a glass, stirring in about half a teaspoon of confectioner sugar and stirring i a spritz of carbonated water to fill the glass You can replace the pineapple juice, sugar and carbonated water by using 7-Up in their place. Adding a slice of lemon or lime and/or maraschino cherry tops it off.

    1. Was that on Anthony Bourdain's show? I think he was in Vietnam or Thailand, right?
