We will be staying with our family in Rehovot for a week in September. I'm so pysyched!
We won't be doing much touring as we've hit most of the main attractions on previous visits.
Hoping to see Haifa/Natanya again, though.
Would love a couple of suggestions near Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. We don't get the whole Sheinkin Street thing.
We've been to Manta Ray, in Tel Aviv and loved it. Really enjoyed the whole beach and good meal aspect.
Have been to Dag ha la Dan (sic), loved that too.
Not looking for Italian or French food, just good local places.
My cousins are not chowhounds so they are looking to me for suggestions.
Thank you for help,
Lukshen

I'm very envious. Just got back last week and it was AMAZING!!!! They have completely redone the NORTH Port in Tel Aviv (the other direction from Jaffa). A fabulous place to walk, shop and eat. You might even catch a wedding ceremony! Try Boya, towards the north end. The food is terrific and the scenery is beautiful.

Thank you, I think I was there 3 years ago. Is it where Max Brenner is? I get so turned around. One of these times I'm going to know which way is which. I will definitely check out Boya. Did you try Carmela near Nachalat Binyaman?

In Rehovot you could try M'ta'amei Taymani (sorry for the lousy transliteration). It's at 165 Rechov Herzel. It's a little dumpy hole in the wall set back some off the street but I found it to be something like a Yemenite Cheers. Not that it was a bar, just that the owner knew everyone who came in and, except for us, everyone was a regular. The food isn't going to be Manta Ray but it is as authentic as you can want.

Thank you, either my cousin will know of it or be totally surprised. Either way it's a win-win for me. I should have plenty of time since I'll be in Rehovot for almost a week, yeah!
Authentic is good.
