I haven't been in some time (and last time was for brunch, which was pretty good) -- used to be a favorite and then went seriously downhill. I'm thinking of giving them a try for a dinner on sunday night for 6.

Any recent reports?

Still very good. I had dinner there a couple of months ago. Great bang for the buck.

Steve eats there at least once every 2 or 3 weeks. No doubt he'll weigh in soon.

very very good. i am in once every two months or so -- the passport fees from queens can mount up! -- and have been amazed at how well it holds up. i think the chef's talents skew more towards fall/winter dishes (my opinion only) so i assume things will rock even more in coming days.

Yep, been there at least 3 times in the past 4-6 weeks.... all good. Daniel has been doing some great soft shell tacos lately and even put his dry rubbed ribs (with a nice dipping sauce) on the menu a couple of times (not sure if it'll be there on Sunday). The buckwheat crepe with salmon and creme is my other favorite app... Ginny loves the simplicity of the halibut and orders it reasonably regularly as her entree. I also think the current bacon wrapped pork dish is excellent these days. And the home-made ice cream is still great as well. So, I guess this is an affirmative answer, huh?

Thanks guys, glad to hear things are looking up there. Turns out we're dragging ourselves into manhattan (August in W. Village...which I'm actually quite looking forward to). But will defn. pop into Chestnut for dinner again soon.
