Scones, etc. in Spring Lake, NJ

You have got to stop at the Scone Pony on Washington Ave. in Spring Lake to try the unbelievable baked goods.
Everything is so light and fresh. I've sampled the raspberry scones , brownie, red velvet, vanilla , German chocolate cupcakes and peanut butter cups so far but they also had bread, croissants, mini pies and petit fours.
Awesome! This was a dangerous find for me. I loved everything so much that I convinced my niece to use their cupcakes for her upcoming wedding in 3 weeks. They are THAT
good.

Tonirog, thanks for reminding me about this place. It got a nice, though short, column in the New York Times a couple of weeks ago and I have put it on my list of places to visit.

Took a ride over to Spring Lake yesterday morning in the rain to visit the Scone Pony.

Nice storefront; noted one table & set of chairs outside by the front door. Inside very clean & bright & inviting. Had a friendly chat with a genial fellow behind the counter who I'm assuming is the owner (or one of the management team in any event).

Tried some samples of crumb cake which tasted quite good. Ended up purchasing 3 scones (orange-cran, peach, and blueberry) --- several of which did not remain unscathed through the trip home. All of them were of good portion size & excellent (fresh, flavorful, not dried out, not greasy, etc.) Also bought 2 dark chocolate cupcakes which we enjoyed as dessert after dinner last evening.....no regrets to say the least.

All of the various baked goods on display looked very appetizing.

      Recommended; we'll be back.
