Business Dinner in Nashville

Looking for a place for a great business dinner in Nashville. Not a stuffy steakhouse, but a place that has good, interesting foodie food. Hints appreciated

If I'm staying at the hermitage is it easy to find cabs to watermark and back? I've never been to Nashville and don't plan on renting a car.

btw RdBchAndy did you end up having a good experience for a business dinner?

That should be no problem. Of course they can call you a cab at the hotel (if there is not one there) and Watermark is in the Gulch, which is a pretty taxi-rich area. And it will be a very short cab ride.

I'm a big fan of the stone ground grits souffle appetizer. And you can't go wrong with any of the seafood entrees.

There is Jack's bbq downtown..skip that one and check the one on West Trinity..about 5-10 minutes north of downtown off I24/65

Is there still that guy with his smoker parked outside the Station Inn? That's some damn fine bbq.

Yes, I drove by there the other day and saw a guy with a smoker. Never ate it, so based on your recommendation I'll check him out.

Great, SS. I won't be back in Nashville for a couple of weeks, but the sample of ribs I had from him was very good..

Watermark and the Standard are both good places to get foodie food and for a business dinner.

I'm not all that fond of Tayst ... a lot of people like it, though. It's always struck me as "meh." Here are some others to add to pete's list:

            Watermark
            Margot Cafe
The Palm (although it IS a steakhouse, but a damn fine one)
            Sunset Grille
            Midtown Cafe
            Flyte
            City House
            Bound'ry
            Lime (Latin American)
            Zola
