Distrito or Osteria
Have to make a choice. We have a babysitter, and got reservations at each place. We've been to Osteria and loved it, but were also thinking about trying Distrito. However, the last time we got to go out, we went to Chifa and were VERY disappointed. We don't get to go out alot, so I want to make the right choice.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

they are two very different places, and there are two additional (non-food) points to consider. i love the food pretty equally at both, so....
1) will you be able to tolerate the amazing amount of college-types currently descending on distrito?
2) do you want to have as long a meal out as possible? you definitely get your food pretty quickly at distrito, but you can linger.
tough choice, glad i don't have to make it. :) and i agree at chifa, though i really want to give it another chance.

Tough choice. They are both great in different ways. I haven't been to Chifa, so can't compare, but I love, love, love Distrito. In case it gives perspective, I also love Amada, but am not as crazy about Tinto. I love Mexican food anyway, and Distrito is delicious. All of the ceviches are fantastic. I love the fish tacos, the mushroom huarache, and the mole dishes. The margaritas are also a highlight, especially the ones with fresh fruit.

I also didn't care much for Chifa, I had some good things there (the pork bun is awesome), but overall it wasn't worth the money. Distrito, on the other hand, is my favorite of Jose's places. It's less expensive than Chifa or Osteria as well. Since you've already been to Osteria, I'd go to Distrito. Try the hamachi ceviche and the tortilla soup.
