Don't want them cooked - we'd like to grill them ourselves. We would also like other Middle Eastern sides. I know Super King sells chicken & beef lula, but I'd also like them pre-formed. Does anyone know if Super King will do this?

If not Super King, anyone have a source for such items? Preferably Glendale, Northeast LA, Pasadena.

Thanks

Jons Market also sells lula kebob but lula is cooked on a shish so unless you bring them your own shish. You could also make them like kufta and shape them like little footballs.

If you go to Cafe Bravo in Glendale (off-hours, i.e., not lunch peak) with your own shishes they'll probably wrap their excellent lula around it. You may convince them to lend you their shishes but I doubt it. It's really not that hard to put lula on a shish...

I know that both SuperKing and the Glendale Jon's sell lula, and sell the broader,
flatter skewers (sorta sword-like) which allow you to cook 'em without having just roll around on the skewer, but I can't imagine anyone selling pre-formed raw ones, given how easy it is to form 'em, and how difficult it'd be to pack and carry pre-formed raw ones...

Good Food Market on the corner of Allen and Washington in Pasadena. They have bulk lual kabob and a deli with assorted olives, feta (the French Feta is the best) etc. Good circluar loaves of bread.

Thanks for the replies. While it's easy to form a half dozen lula's (at least the way I probably incorrectly do them), we'll probably need at least 100 or so for the party. Forming them all is a chore I'd rather not deal with.

So you want small shishes or small footballs or 100 full size shises. Why not see if they will cater?

Old Fashion Deli on Verdugo Rd. just north of Glendale College and right across the street from Glorietta park has preseasoned lula, chicken, beef, and lamb meat for grilling. By far some of the best quality and tasting meats and always fresh as they sell a high volume of their goods to local Armenians and Persians. Conveniently, the store also carries all of the sides you may want as well as stews like ghormet sabzi and ghemeh pollo. I highly recommend this place for the quality and tastiness of both their prepared and pre-prepared foods.
