Betsy's Diner in Falmouth

We just came back from a week in Cape Cod. We stopped into Betsy's Diner in Falmouth, assuming it would be standard issue diner fare. Were we wrong. Everything was fresh and well prepared and there was one standout on the menu: an amazing cream of mushroom soup. This wasn't overly thick yet creamy, full of rich, deep mushroom flavor and loaded with fresh mushrooms. It was terrific.

    1. Good find Claire! We've been going to Betsy's at least once for breakfast and once for dinner since about 1994 (during the month we spend on the Cape); our kids and their Cape cousins have made going to Betsy's something of a family tradition. Hard to park and long waits on the weekends and stay away completely during the Falmouth Road Race week in August. But other than the crowds, we've never had a bad experience there and it's difficult to beat the value given their prices. "Betsy's" was originally the "Peter Pan Diner" in Allentown, PA was moved to Falmouth, MA "only" in 1992. It's too bad there aren't more quality and value places like Betsy's on the Cape.

Ditto Centinel! Every time we stay in Falmouth we stay at the Mariner Motel, and at least once during our stay we take the short walk down to Betsy's and are never disappointed. As for you, it's a tradition for us too.
