Give me a second (or third) thing to order from a place that is basically known for just one thing…I’m still gonna order the specialty of the restaurant but sometimes I need a second thing on the table (or in the take out bag)…

No need to limit it to the following places, but just for example, what else can you recommend from the following places in addition to: pastrami from langers, chicken with fries from dino’s, mulitas from la taquiza, pork neck soup and slightly spicy ribs from hamji park, the chicken items from ob bear, hwe dup bap and al bap from A Won, bibimbap from jeon ju, tofu soups from Beverly soon tofu, chacarero sandwich and humitas at tienda Rincon chileno, etc.

these are great suggestions. Does anyone have thoughts on Jeon Ju or A Won?

Some would say the "second" option at A-Won *is* the Ahl Bap, which you've labeled as your "go-to" dish already. (A-Won is generally known for its Hwe Dup Bap, which I find generally very overrated). That said, if you want a "second" second option at A-Won, I would opt for cod casserole or the Eun Dae Gu Jorim.

And speaking of Eun Dae Gu Jorim, that's also the "second" dish that I would get at Jeon Ju -- although personally I rarely have a reason to go to Jeon Ju because if I want Bibimbap there are so many other better options in Ktown.

        First, ipsedixit, thank you.
Second, do tell about the 2 or more other bibimbaps that you prefer

Go to Mapo (corner of 6th and Normandie) for bibimbap.

        "Hamburger at Yuca's"

I've heard this recommended a number of times, but I just can't break from my routine of getting the cochinita pibil tacos.

Is their burger really that good?

          Try it sometime.

You know what makes it special? The patty is grilled up on the same surface that they make the carne asada, machaca, etc. and all those juicy and tasty bits of meat and grease gets imported into hamburger patty ... makes for one tasty burger.

            That DOES sound good!

I thought about going today, but between the acid smoke and 100+ temps, I decided to stay indoors for lunch.

At Dino's (I go to the one on Pico) if you're not having the chicken then try the pastrami sandwich.

I second the rec or Dino's pastrami dip sandwich. It's as good as I've had for that style of pastrami but not to be compared to a deli style sandwich.

Get the BBQ squid if you can stomach that sort of thing. It's cooked well. Not tough, and plenty of smokey bbq flavor.
