This is no loss. Absolutely the worst meal of my life was eaten there.

I am bummed about a bunch of the other closings, however. It's not like there's so much to choose from that we can lose this many. And I never got to eat at Bicycle, even though I had been planning on it! Darnit.

as a native baltimorean now living in montco, it makes me very sad to hear of these closings of the grand restaurants of baltimore. I used to love going with my parents to marticks, the chesapeake, the brass elephant, the pimlico hotel, as well as to my fav crab house "the late" pump room on north ave. may all these places RIP. I am sad

So, Baltimore 'Hounds, what's on the top of your "Must go before it's gone" list of Baltimore "classics"?

I'd only eaten there once, but spent a fair amount of time in the lovely Tusk Bar upstairs. I am curious what "classics" are left....

Is Prime Rib in trouble? We love the place, go there whenever we are in Baltimore.

I don't know that they're in trouble per se -- they've survived other economic downturns. But judging from the emails I get from them they're definitely struggling -- they've extended the Restaurant Week menu throughout the entire fall, and no longer require jackets although they are requested but optional on Saturday nights.

I also love the place. Taking my fiance there was a magical experience.

I guess you'd have to include Tio Pepe's - love it or not it certainly must be a Baltimore classic. Anything left in Little Italy that could be considered a classic? We haven't been there in years. How about Ikaros - is that still open?
