Had a fantastic meal at Quo Vadis last week. Had been put off a little after the rave reviews when it first opened seemed to go downhill recently, but we were not disappointed.

My starter of scallops ceviche was perfect - served with a slightly tangy tomato salsa which perfectly complimented the sweet scallops - and they were the right temperature (I have found in the past they can be served too cold, fresh from the fridge). My main of lamb rack was just as delicious - perfectly pink, juicy (and quite large) chops with a rich jus and served with courgette flowers.

My partner had the fillet steak - they have a grill in the kitchen and he said it was the best steak he has had in a restaurant (better than Hawksmoor) - crispy char on the outside and tender on the inside. I didn't try the mash we ordered as a side but apparently it was the best he has ever had (probably due to the 1 part potato, 1 part cream, 1 part butter ratio!). The service was excellent - we ordered a bottle of Cote de Rhone but the charming waiter suggested we try a Spanish alternative, which was actually slightly cheaper, but very good. All in all, a very good meal and would definitely go back.
