Lunch in Rockport Area
Hi -
Going to a wedding in Rockport this weekend and looking for a good lunch spot. I do not want fried clams, lobster roll, etc (ie no Clam Shacks) rather looking for an upscale lunch spot, good view, good bottle of wine (perhaps outside dinning....).
I've searched the boards and can't find any non clam shack type places (willing to go to Newburyport/Ipswich, Gloucester, etc.)
Help!

I enjoy Capt's Carlos in Gloucester. They are on the water and have outside sitting and a bar on the harbor. Best tuna steak in Gloucester!

One of my favorite lunch places in that area is Ithaki in Ipswich. It's upscale Greek food and truly outstanding. Not on the water, though. (See our blog for a full review; we also did a post on outdoor dining spots.) Also, we are going to Madfish Grille in Gloucester today for lunch. Will report back. From the Web site, it doesn't look all that upscale, but it's on the water and certainly not a clam shack. The menu looks interesting.

re: vtmark
Madfish was good but not great. The view is incredible, the dining room is very attractive (varnished wood with fun colorful fish artwork), and the sweet potato fries were good. The rest of our meals were just okay. We tried some of the more gourmet items, and we're now thinking we might have had better luck if we'd stuck to the basics.
