Bar Breton: Dinner?

Headed to BB for dinner soon and was hoping that you all could give me some of your recs. I've been for brunch, but not for any other meal. Thanks in advance!!

  1. We've had dinner (and lunch) at Bar Breton several times. Last time, dinner in May. I presume you've had some of the galettes? My favorite is the smoked salmon. The endive and orange salad is excellent. The galette stuffed with braised lamb shank is delicious, and though I haven't had the current preparation of duck, Chef Renaud's duck dishes are always first-rate. I've also had wonderful fish but not the ones on this menu. All the desserts are fine.

    ETA: I take back my comment about fish. I just rmembered I had a cod dish with parsnips and pearl onions. Yum!

        I'm touched, Leah. But you're no slouch. And then, of course, there's Kathryn.... :) In any case, I'll be interested to hear about your dinner experience at Bar Breton.

    2. I did week day lunch there a few weeks ago and it was very good--eager to try it for dinner next. We also had the smoked salmon galette (could have eaten 2 more at least) and a great fish prep (not recalling what it was exactly). I liked the Vacation cocktail too (sweet and decadent).

      1. I just returned from dinner and it was lovely. From the fresh bread basket to my cheeseburger, everything was delicious! I especially LOVED the lemon crepe cake for dessert. I know, I know...I should have ordered a galette! Next time for sure!

          2. The menu has changed substantially since we were there last month, but two appetizers that are still on it are standouts, the suckling pig terrine and the squid.

              The suckling pig terrine certainly beckoned! Along with a galette, I will definitely order that next time!
