Any ideas for a good Montecito lunch and dinner that's not very expensive?

Stella Mares would be your best choice. Or, San Ysidro Pharmacy cafe. Or Von's deli. Cafe del Sol. Pierre LaFond's deli will set you back some.

There are few good restaurants that meet your criteria in Montecito, Upper or Lower Village. Hard to know what you mean by "not very expensive". I rarely think of it for casual dining. And many of the more acclaimed restaurants there I have found simply are not all that good.

You might want to venture into Summerland to the Nugget or an excellent choice of good small restaurants in Carpinteria for better dining value.
