Sosua and Cabarete Dominican Republic
What are the best restaurants in these two towns?
Thank you.

Last night we had a very cool dinner about 20 minutes outside of Cabarete. It is a great dining experience called The Castle Club. It is run by a couple in their home which is enormous, luxurious, beautiful and up on a hilltop with the most amazing 360 degree views. The food is innovative caribbean cuisine with emphasis on local ingredients (organic vegetables grown on their property). Call for reservations 809-357-8334 or 829-341-6611.

I just got back from Sosua. The best restaurant that I have ever been to- ever- is called "Chili". It is a Thai restaurant on La Mulata Road. That says a lot because I am from NYC and it is not always easy to find this standard in authenticity out of Thailand or a big city such as NYC. The phone no is 809-913-2159 and they are open Wednesday through Sunday. You have probably gone on your trip by now but if someone else is reading this-please don't pass this up. Also, if you are going to Sosua beach, I recommend going to store number 189 called Caribe- run by this guy named Adanas. The food is very good here and Adanas takes good care of you.

In Sosua, the restaurant "on the waterfront" has always pleased me. It's beeing 3 yrs that I didn't go there, so I can't tell if it's still good or still opened. But the food was delicious (some nice dominican fares, lots of seafood + meat grills) and I will never forget the romantic and scenic view from their terrace (overlooking the sea).

re: aromes
I dated a Dominican man for quite awhile. His mom mad a lot of rice and beans, fish and chicken. She created some amazing dishes with beans. They loved pork as well which I do not eat. When you get to the DR ask the taxi drivers or staff at the hotel for recommendations. I am sure most do not eat out but might has some tips.

re: aromes
We ate at The Waterfront April 2011, the langostinos were awesome. It's a bit "old school" with Caesar salad made tableside, something we haven't seen in decades but it was a nice bit of nostalgia. Had a very good octopus app which was somewhat less good a few days later. I suspect the more simple preparations would be the way to go at this restaurant. Overall yes, we'd go back.

I cannot log into my account so will use my daughters. My windsurf clients LOVE this property for dining.
